GMEC’s Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Bonus Package is designed to aid LVN’s who want to build their resume while getting practical hands-on experience in preparation to work in Skilled Nursing Facilities.

Skilled Nursing Facilities’ LVN nurses will greatly benefit from gaining the additional knowledge and skills from completing IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal, CPR, and Home Health Essentials.

The courses included in this bonus package are the most requested by Skilled Nursing Facilities for both new hires and experienced nurses on staff.

This package includes the following courses.

-IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal (Certification does not expire, 20 CEU for RN, 36 for LVN) - An essential course for LVNs wishing to develop and/or update skills, experience live practice, and refresh/further their knowledge base. Areas of IV therapy and blood withdrawal covered thoroughly in this combined class include: methods for performing IV therapy /blood withdrawal, basic IV review, and advanced theory (maintaining PICC lines, central lines, pumps, etc.)

-Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR (Updates every 2 years, CEUs for LVNs) - This course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. The AHA BLS Healthcare Provider course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe and timely manner. GMEC’s courses provide LOW-STRESS, hands-on experience taught by veteran instructors in a state of the art facility utilizing the most-up-to-date equipment and techniques

-Home Health Nursing Essentials (Includes):

+Tracheostomy and Mechanical Ventilation

+Wound Care: Prevention, Assessment, and Management

The 3 day Home Health portion of the Package will cover the following areas (but not limited to):

- Responsibilities of the Home Care Nurse, Admitting a Patient to Home Care, Performing the Initial Visit, Patient Assessment, Infection Control in the Home, Development and Implementation of the Plan of Care

- Respiratory Care, Oxygen Therapy in the home, Ventilation Management, Tracheostomy Care, CPAP and BiPAP Management

- Skin Assessment, Wound Prevention Measures, Classification and Staging of Pressure Ulcers, Arterial Ulcers, Venous Stasis Ulcers, Diabetic Foot Ulcers. Treatment Measures and Wound Care Products, Wound Care terminology

- Clinical Applications, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Chronic Heart Failure, Diabetes Home Care, Bladder Dysfunction, Indwelling Urinary Catheter Management, Enteral Feeding via G-tubes and J-tubes

Neurological Dysfunction, Care of Stroke Patients, Patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Patients with Alzheimer’s Type Dementia

- Patients Receiving Home Infusion Therapy, Management of Central Venous Access Devices, Total Parenteral Nutrition Administration, Peripheral IV Access

 

Course Cost: $660.00

(This includes all manuals and supplies.)
