LVN's with pending numbers or students will receive a temporary certificate of completion that may be shown to current or potential employers as proof of course completion. These students must provide GMEC with a valid VN #. All State paperwork will be sent to the BVNPT by GMEC on student's behalf upon successful course completion. Student will receive the original documents and certificate for their records.

Please note:

  • Medical release: A medical release from your physician is required if you are pregnant or have any other medical condition that would prevent you from participating in the live testing portion of this course.
  • Daily Expectations: Each class begins sharp and students must be in attendance. Any time missed due to lateness must be made up at the end of class to prevent your certified status at a State level being delayed, or if a student misses a significant amount of class time he or she will be rescheduled.
  • This is a long course modeled after common healthcare professional work shifts. GMEC believes that our daily curriculum and structure fosters an enriched academic learning environment to effectively retain the knowledge conveyed during those days. We strive to maintain a positive atmosphere that is encouraged by the welcome and constructive contributions of our students and highly qualified instructors.
  • To ensure students feel comfortable during testing, safety issues and possible complications are covered prior to examination. Practical testing on each other is required for LVNs, and is optional for RNs. A proxy may be brought in your place if the student cannot have a live stick performed for whatever reason.
  • Regulations:
    • The state of California requires each LVN student to perform 3 live venipunctures in addition to multiple fingers sticks on each other.
    • If you cannot be stuck and you do not have access to a proxy, you will not be able to participate in the live stick portion of the course, which will result in non-certification. Please understand this is a State requirement for complete certification.
  • Students must wear closed-toed shoes or they will not be allowed in class.
  • Our primary goal is to provide the highest quality of instruction and education to each of our students, and to help ensure the safety of their future patients.
