The phlebotomist is one of the most important positions in the clinical laboratory.  Without the phlebotomist there would be no specimen for the clinical laboratory to run tests on.

The Limited Phlebotomy Technician (LPT) program follows guidelines established by the California Department of Public Health Laboratory Field Services in preparation for state certification and employment as a Limited Phlebotomy Technician. The Limited Phlebotomy Technician (LPT) certificate authorizes you to do skin puncture blood collection only.  The program focuses on state-identified topics of basic anatomy and medical terminology, infection control, and procedures necessary for skin puncture blood collection.
