Description

GMEC’s LVN New Grad Package is designed to aid LVN’s who want to build their resume while getting practical hands-on experience.  The classes included in this package are the most requested by hospitals of new applicants, as well as those courses that provide an excellent foundation of knowledge that LVNs can effectively build upon. The package contains the following courses:

GMEC’s IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal is a great course for RNs wishing to update skills, experience live practice, and refresh/further their knowledge base. Areas of IV therapy and blood withdrawal covered thoroughly in this combined class include: methods for performing IV therapy /blood withdrawal, basic IV review, and advanced theory (maintaining PICC lines, central lines, pumps, etc.).

AHA’s ECG Arrhythmia Interpretation and Pharmacology course is excellent for individuals contemplating ACLS Certification or those who must or wish to supplement their training. This is a one-day course that provides the necessary knowledge needed to interpret and treat Cardiac Arrhythmisa, basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements, basic arrhythmias, basic ACLS drugs, usage and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies, how to integrate basic drug pharmacology into ACLS algorithms, 12 Lead, and Cardiac Conduction. GMEC also provides a set of simulated Mega Code scenarios in which students perform real-time ECG interpretation and drug intervention similar to what is found in an actual ACLS Mega Code test.

GMEC’s Ventilator Training course is intended and designed primarily for healthcare providers who require initiation into applications and need to acquire basic skills with respiratory equipment. Personalized curriculum, short term, and hands on training in a low stress environment all promote a greater retention of information and techniques. This course is a stand-alone course, or may be included as part of the GMEC Home Health Nursing Essentials course.

GMEC’s Wound Care Prevention Online course is developed around the most important factor regarding wound care prevention. This course emphasizes the importance of a provider’s overall ability to recognize, assess, and prevent the development of a variety of common wounds as well as exploring the current and accepted treatments in a healthcare setting. This course is for educational purposes and does not identify LVNs or RNs as a Certified Wound Care Nurse. This course will not allow one to perform procedures that are beyond one’s specific scope of practice. This course is a stand-alone course, or may be included as part of the GMEC Home Health Nursing Essentials course.

AHA manual sold separately.

Reschedule, No Show, and Cancellation and Refund Policies

It is the students’ responsibility to notify GMEC by email or phone that they cannot make the class.

The Reschedule Policy allows students to reschedule their course one time at no cost or be placed on a To Be Determined roster with a one year limit from the time of original course registration. Rescheduling must be completed at least 72 hours prior to the start of the class. Subsequent rescheduling will incur a $20 processing fee. No refunds are available after rescheduling and the amount paid remains as a credit.

The No Show Policy refers to students who have paid for a course and do not call ahead to reschedule, cancel, or request a refund prior to the class. A student who does not contact GMEC to cancel their course or does not show up for the course will forfeit all fees paid. No Shows do not qualify for a refund or a reschedule. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this policy.

The Cancellation and Refund Policy states that students may cancel a course up to 72 hours prior to the start date. A $20 fee will be charged for the class that was canceled.  Refund requests will be honored when made prior to 72 hours of the course start time. Within 72 hours of course date, any payments made are not refundable. Due to the unique Course Package discount rates, packages are not eligible for full refund. Refunds will be processed within 5 to 7 working days from the time we received the notification of a class will be cancelled. A check will be mailed for the refund.

GMEC strives to ensure every option is explored before rescheduling or cancelling a scheduled class. We do not make the decision to cancel classes lightly and do our best to take every precaution we have available to us to prevent taking such an action. However, should backup instructors be unavailable to teach a scheduled class, advanced notice will always be attempted. Should advanced notice be impossible, in the unlikely case of a cancellation or rescheduling, GMEC will honor each student's credit and will reschedule the class within a reasonable time. GMEC is not responsible for any loss of revenue, wages, hotel or travel expenses, or damages resulting from a canceled or rescheduled class.

Notification process if class is cancelled: Participant will be notified by email as quickly as possible.

To cancel or reschedule please phone us at (714) 577-0187, or email at admin@genesismec.com.
