  • Practical testing on each other is an optional courtesy we extend to all RNs on the last day of class that includes live sticks. A proxy may be brought in your place if you cannot have a live stick performed on you for any reason.
  • RNs may also attend a third day either partial or complete to receive additional hands-on time. There is no cost for this option.
  • Upon successful completion of this course, Genesis students are welcome back to refresh their live stick skills for one year at no cost. You must call ahead to coordinate scheduling.

Please note:

  • Manual: Students receive the manual on-site.
  • Equipment Box: Students are issued an equipment box in class and are responsible for the equipment. There is a $20 charge for lost or damaged equipment.
  • Medical release: A medical release from your physician is required if you are pregnant or have any other medical condition that would prevent you from participating in the live testing portion of this course.
  • Daily Expectations: Each day begins at 7:00 a.m. sharp and will run for 12 hours. Any time missed due to lateness must be made up at the end of class to prevent your certified status at a State level being delayed, or if a student misses a significant amount of class time he or she will be rescheduled.
  • This is a long course modeled after common healthcare professional work shifts. GMEC believes that our daily curriculum and break/lunch structure fosters an enriched academic learning environment to effectively retain the knowledge conveyed during those days. We strive to maintain a positive atmosphere that is encouraged by the welcome and constructive contributions of our students and highly qualified instructors.
  • To ensure students feel comfortable during testing, safety issues and possible complications are covered prior to examination. Practical testing on each other is optional for RNs. A proxy may be brought in your place if the student cannot have a live stick performed for whatever reason.
  • Students must wear closed-toed shoes or they will not be allowed in class.
  • Our primary goal is to provide the highest quality of instruction and education to each of our students, and to help ensure the safety of their future patients.
