Basic IV Therapy Theory and Knowledge for EMTs -

The Basic IV Therapy Theory and Knowledge for EMTs course is designed to meet Orange County Emergency Medical Services (OCEMS) continuing education requirements. This comprehensive three-day course provides EMTs with foundational knowledge in IV therapy and blood withdrawal, emphasizing safety, theory, and clinical decision-making in prehospital care settings.

Complete the enrollment requirements at least 1 week prior to the start date. Allow time for admissions review and document uploads.

Hybrid course with required online coursework completed prior to the live lab.

This course prepares EMTs to understand and apply IV therapy and blood withdrawal concepts within their scope of practice while responding effectively to emergency situations.

Orange County EMS has approved Genesis Medical College as a prehospital CE provider.
Students must confirm acceptance of CE hours with their local county. Genesis Medical College will work with any county to support CE eligibility.

Tuition includes access to online course materials, laboratory supplies and equipment, and live skills training.  There is a $50 application fee   

Upon successful completion, graduates receive a certificate verifying earned Continuing Education credit.
